Our Accounting and Finance team is looking for a Cost Accountant who will provide support to the in the areas of general accounting, reporting and analysis, and month-end closing. Responsible for various accounting functions including standard cost, inventory management and analysis, processing invoices, auditing expenses, weekly payment run and in-depth review and analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Pay rate: $69,000 - $77,000 per year plus bonus target

Location: US - West Coast, Pacific Time Zone

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconcile work-in-process variances, analyzing and closing work orders.
  • Manage daily inventory sub-ledgers post.
  • Perform part number setups and cost set up.
  • Review and perform BOM roll-up cost.
  • Analyze warranty reimbursement and cost accrual.
  • Accrue for service labor cost and warranty expenses.
  • Approve expensed materials and recognize sales tax.
  • Assist in cycle count and yearly physical inventory count.
  • Processes daily Accounts Payable Inquiry, Invoices approval and posting.
  • Upload Purchase card expenses to system.
  • Audit and approve Travel & Entertainment expense reports.
  • Prepare wire request and submit it to Treasury department.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs for employee travel & expenses and vendors.
  • Reconciles account detail transactions to General Ledger.
  • Monthly accounting closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and financial report reconciliation.
  • Monthly accounts reconciliation.
  • Assists with preparation of monthly financial statement reports to management and headquarters.
  • Prepare and maintain desktop procedure and training materials.
  • Assist in requested analysis for budget and forecast planning.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:

  • Proactively develops and recommends methodology to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial data and performance.
  • Prepare, analyze and assist in internal and external audit and tax filing schedules.
  • Assist operations and outside warehouse with various issues.
  • Special projects as requested.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Desired 2 years’ experience within an Accounting or Finance corporate environment

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or beyond

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Accounting fundamentals, cost accounting experience a plus.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite. Working knowledge of VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF, SUBTOTAL formulas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to overcome challenges to meet tight deadlines; team oriented and continuous improvement mindset; able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information.
  • Experience with large ERP software; hands-on experience with Oracle highly preferred.
  • Working experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
